Senior Payroll Specialist

Job description:

  • Calculation of monthly payroll figures and tax obligations;
  • Calculation of tax and social security contributions for other various payments for individuals and preparation of their tax return (service contracts, management agreement, rent agreement, business trips, etc);
  • Communication with client’s Human Resources (HR) department and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely calculation within defined timeline;
  • Communication with tax authorities, auditors, banks – oral and written in Serbian and English;
  • Supervise and coach payroll clerks and assistants;
  • Administration of employee documentation, preparation of certificates and other documentation related to personal income of employees;
  • Ensure that data in client data base are accurate and reconciled with input data, timly record of all changes in the system;
  • Prepare payroll and other individuals earning reports;
  • Additional explanation to clients for payroll-related questions (salary optimization, general rules on payroll process, local law requirements – payroll related, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies and payroll procedures.

Requirements:

  • University degree (level VI or VII);
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with end-to-end payroll processing including experience with a consulting company;
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes;
  • Thorough knowledge of payroll legal, tax, and compliance requirement;
  • Advanced Excel experience (pivot tables and lookups) required;
  • Fluent in English (writing and conversational, level B1, or higher);
  • Knowledge of ABSoft is an advantage;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • A proactive, high energy attitude geared towards achieving continuous improvement;
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail;
